959-964 cluster

Observations:

  1. dp4 and droPer1 seem to have the correct sequence for 963 & 964 but the alignment look sketchy.
  2. Ortholog for droVir3 is missing in 959 and 960
  3. All orthologs seems to lie on the same chromsome though, so no rearangement event seem to occur (but need to investigate this for droVir3).

There are no candidate miRNAs found in this cluster across the 12 drosopholids

An important note about D. willistoni- LASTZ identified many equally-probable genomic locale for miRNAs within this cluster and within this species. This may be an artifact of how this genome was assembled, because there appear to be many similar scaffolds, or may be a genuine duplication event. D. willistoni is isolated on its own branch in the phylogeny, so the second argument is likely. However, it should also be raised that the UCSC browser may have an older revision of the willistoni genome assembly.
